The Weaver Library is the main branch of the East Providence Library system. The size of the existing building was nearly quadrupled by repeating the mass and form of the original historic building in sympathetic materials of matching brick and limestone. The rhythm of the pediments breaks down the scale of the addition and provides a complementary foil for the park setting in a residential neighborhood. Interior features include fully accessible stack areas, a large meeting room which is available for after hours use and complete building systems integration throughout. A complete furnishings package was designed and prepared by the architect and integrated into the project.
