Contrasting bold forms and modern details with traditional materials, Lerner | Ladds + Bartels transformed an under-used corner property into a centerpiece of the bustling Thayer Street district. Massing and materials respect the context of the neighborhood but ensure that the building is noticed. The building is designed with open floor plans and exterior armature to accept a variety of uses on the ground floor. A restaurant anchors the ground floor, while two-story townhouse apartments are a welcome reintroduction of residential use to Thayer Street. L | L + B worked closely with the contractor and owner through the fast-track construction to meet tight site conditions, schedule, and budget.
